About Meditation

Before starting meditation, keep a few things in mind.

Some people experience feelings of anger, depression, agitation, sadness, neck pain, back pain, and extreme fatigue that makes it hard to sit still when they begin meditating. Sometimes, tears may come to the eyes, and these kinds of disturbances can arise.

Consider these as tests from God, and only through persistent effort will you achieve meditation. Our karma may cause initial disturbances, and anxieties can interfere with meditation. However, with continuous effort and determination, meditation can be attained quickly.

I am not telling you this to inspire you; it is my own experience. At the beginning of my meditation journey, I had no strength at all. As I continued to meditate, I now work all day and still have abundant energy.

With patience, dedication, and continuous effort, meditation becomes easy and quick to achieve.

When meditating, it is common to experience leg cramps, back and neck pain, and a flood of thoughts at the beginning.

For the first 10 or 20 days after starting meditation, all the old memories in our minds may resurface, which can bring tears or anger. During such times, do not lose heart; instead, focus your mind on meditation and keep practicing. Meditation is an act of cleaning the mind's clutter. After a few days, all the old memories will leave your mind, and complete peace will settle within you.

During meditation, each time a thought arises, remind yourself of the essence of self and bring your focus back to meditation or your breath.

Old impressions of your soul may surface; forgive them, remind yourself of the soul's essence, and focus on your breath.

If you practice this way, after a few days, you will be able to enjoy the bliss found in meditation.

You will attain the universal energy that one gets from an hour of deep sleep in just one minute of deep meditation.

In my own new journey of meditation, old memories would come up and bring tears to my eyes. I repeatedly focused my mind on meditation and practiced.

If you cannot meditate for an hour at the beginning, start with twenty minutes, and after a few days, meditating for an hour will become very easy for you.

Having guidance from a guru makes it easier, but with a strong resolve to pursue spiritual practice, all the information and guidance you need will come to you at the right time. No guru guided me in my meditation journey; I made a determination to meditate, and then I found the necessary gurus, information, and help through the internet, books, and videos.

If you start meditation with a strong resolve, all the help you need will come from your willpower. Make a full commitment and begin practicing meditation.

If everyone meditates daily, the universal knowledge will be accessible to all. With a daily practice of meditating for some time, the soul's energy and infinite universal knowledge will also be available to you.

Spiritual practitioners must be cautious about the following:

1. When ego arises, spiritual power diminishes.

2. Practitioners may experience excessive agitation; one must learn to control it and not fall into delusion.

3. Some disturbances will occur; accept them with love, but do not let them stop your spiritual practice. The disturbances you face are merely tests.

4. Under no circumstances should you dwell on negative thoughts about yourself; spiritual practitioners have greater willpower, and it manifests quickly. If a negative thought arises, chant the name of God ten times.

5. You should not hate anyone, nor should you lie (it is acceptable to lie only if your life is at stake); have faith in the principle of karma.

6. Do not go about telling truths that would harm others. Do not tell lies to make others happy.

7. Accept happiness and sorrow with a sense of gratitude, recognizing them as God's grace, and you will quickly receive that divine grace.

New meditators should start with Trataka meditation.

Trataka meditation is very easy and simple; after mastering it, any meditation or mantra you practice will be very effective.

Watch all the videos listed below once, and then start your meditation practice through Trataka meditation:
