Purpose of Life

Purpose of Life

In this world you desire money, power, prestige, etc. then you realize the whole thing is just rubbish. Even If you get, you are defected. If you don't get, you are defected.

Life is beautiful and joyful to the people who just play in life, Same life is stressful, tension, suffering for the people who consider life as a game. Hindus have called it a Leela, (a play) it’s not a game, because game has some purpose, a result to be attained, victory to be achieved, the opponent has to be conquered, that is why game become serious. Grownup’s play games, Children only play. Life is a Leela, it’s a play.  The moment you are ready to play you are enlightened.

I have seen fear, suffering, incompleteness, in the eyes of billionaires. If you are not confident, joyful, and happy in life, why all the struggle? When will that time come, to be joyful and to celebrate life?

When you have no job, you are dying to get one, after getting that, you are dying to achieve something, after an achievement, you are dying for promotion and salary hike, after getting them, you set bigger targets and struggle to reach there.

Where is celebration in life, where is peace in life, what is the purpose of your life. Anything you get, again you become poor and poorer than earlier.

I have seen more poverty in the people who have worked decades in USA and Europe, now they are in India, they are more unsecured or poor when compared to the people who are doing daily labor in India.

Let me share my surroundings experience of life: there are few people who are backward casts and poor, and there are few richest people.

Both Rich and Poor are living their life. Both Rich and Poor undergoing with all the phases of life, like: Failure, Success, Suffering, Happiness, Joy, Sad, Cry, Fear and So on.

Here is the main difference:

Poor/illiterate are living in huts, Rich/educated are living in villas, both are eating, sleeping, working, both are married, both have kids, both will die.

Rich/educated are struggling a lot to get good education for their kids, later jobs and later marriage and so on. Their life is full of struggle and stress.

Poor/illiterate they don't even think about anything, they grow with nature and become adult and get married, have kids and life goes on.

Rich/educated take lots of pressure, stress and struggle and die.

Poor/illiterate they live relaxed life, enjoy, celebrate and die.

Sudha Murthy (wife of N. R. Narayana Murthy)  gave birth to her children in Govt hospital only, now people working in their organization / IT / Corporate are running to Cloud nine / Multi specialty hospitals to get the labor. In Life most of the things are predefined, nothing can save you, nothing can destroy you. It is fear that is making you to think a lot and suffer/struggle.

What is the use of becoming educated and rich, if you don't know the purpose of life? You don’t know how to live life? The purpose of life is celebration, living fullest of life.  Like Trees, like River, like any other creatures on Earth.

One to enjoy their life, they should learn to own less. More you own, more of your life spent on securing and maintaining those assets.

Example: if you have watch, you get unnecessary load to your free hand. You started caring about watch glass, watch cover, protecting from water and dust, servicing watch, changing battery, and so on. Part of your life, you are spending, just for your watch. Also, sometimes you compare with others watch and suffer.

Similarly, look for the things which you own. How much of life is going on securing and serving of the things you own.

I have never seen any pressurized cat, look at the cat, it's always relaxing and enjoying life. As a human being you don't know how to enjoy life. What is the use of living…?

Life has to be multidimensional. Only then it has meaning. Try not to make your life one dimensional. Somebody becomes an engineer, and then he thinks all is finished, he becomes identified with being an engineer. Then his whole life, he is just an engineer... There were millions of things for him to do but he moves only on one track. A single dimension. He gets bored, is fed up, is tired, and weary. He still goes on dragging. Waits only for death.

What meaning can there be?

Have more interests in life. Don't be always a businessman; sometimes play too. Don't be just a doctor or an engineer, or a headmaster, or a professor - be as many things as possible! Play cards, play the violin, sing a song, be an amateur photographer, a poet...Find as many things as possible in life, and then you will have richness. And meaning is a by-product of richness.

What so ever that life gives you accept with deep gratitude, grace happens to you. Life is a purpose less play, play of infinite forces of the universe, beautiful if you don’t have an achiever’s mind, ugly if you have an ambition to become something, be something, to do something. ...Relax, forget the future completely, only this moment exists and this moment is eternity, and only this life is all. Celebrate every moment in life.

Here is an eye-opening story:

Alexander was said while he was in India, met a great Master (Sage). Master asked; if you are in a desert and thirsty and I have a full bottle of water, how much you will be ready to pay for it? Alexander said I will pay half of my empire in such a situation. But Master said I will not sell, until you pay me the full empire. If you are willing to pay half, that is an indication enough customer is going thirstier and will be paying full empire. Alexander agreed… perhaps I will give the whole empire! And the Master laughed, and he said than what you are doing? Wasting your whole life for a bottle of water? Are you stupid or something? This is the way our corporate people not living life by running behind money and power, later they are spending all their earnings to the hospital or children recovery (because of bad parenting).

Last but not least, whatever may be your life’s purpose (which you defined), Don’t be too selfish, help others and serve others. Those are the only thing which makes you happy in your last days of life (when you’re in death bed). You remember: Not the things you owned, not your properties, not your achievement, not your medals or certificates.
You remember only few things: how you helped, how you respected, how you valued, how you cooperated, how you truly enjoyed your life.
