Easy ways to Get Success in corporate!
Success in corporate! It’s easier than you imagine. Trust me and please read this till the end to get hints and clarity on it.

Every field and sector has lots of competitions. Compared to other sectors, corporate is very easy to get success. In other sectors 90% people are in race, remaining 10% are just out of race. Here in corporate 90% people are out of race, only 10% are in race.

Let me explain how: in cricket 90% of all the players try extra mile, extra innovations, extra effort to get selected or to get success. competition in cricket is very difficult. Whereas in corporate 90% of the people are doing only their given job. Only 10% of people do something beyond their job (doing extra). If you consider this %, only one or two people in your team can give some competition in the race. Remaining are not in the race. In corporate, you don't need to run, just a brisk walk itself makes a difference.

Corporate Success Laws:
1. EGO: Delete your EGO, you are here to help the organisation to make more profit. Don't bring your personal interests. (Example: you are skilled at one paid tool, but using a free tool brings revenue to your organization, just go for it. Nokia is the best example, it stayed with symbian OS or Microsoft by not moving to Android)
2. Dress Code: Follow the office dress code. You may feel casual wear gives you a better look. But organizations don't care about our personal interests and is interested  about its image across the other organisations and clients.
3. Emails: Write every email, as if it gets reviewed by your company CEO, no casual or friendly emails. You never know at what time, which of your emails get referenced to clients or higher management due to the project needs.
4. Hair Style: Yes, it matters. Archimedes and Einstein looks are good for architect or scientists kind, because they pay less or no attention to their looks. But in corporate except scientists, others are expected to be in professional haircut and styles.(Ref: Hair style matters)
5. Time Management: Be on time and punctual, it requires no extra effort, it’s just a time management skill. This will save organisations money. Assume: Team meeting gets delayed by 3 minutes because of  you, as you are running late. 10 of your teammates have to wait, you are wasting 30 minutes of the organization time, time is money in corporate.
6. No Favourites: Have no friends or relationships when you are at work. Because this kills your personal reputation and organisation's discipline. This creates an entry point to gossip and internal politics.
7. Be Transparent: Be totally unbiased when hiring new talents, don't bring: cast, religion, colour, gender, or anything. Organisation trusted you and provided a hiring opportunity. Consider all the quality parameters before recommending anyone.
8. Help all: If your team or other teams approach you for help, just jump in and help them in the most respectful way. It's an opportunity for you to create value to the organisation and you never know when you will need help from them.
9. Respect all: Respect every individual the way you respect and treat the billionaire or wise. It indirectly increases your respect and visibility in the organisation. Never discriminate people by their years of experience, gender, skills and position. Everyone is a very important asset to the organisation.
10. Self-discipline and self-control:  Self-discipline helps to improve your organizing and prioritising skills. Self-control is a great asset; it's based on your emotional intelligence. If you are master in dealing with your emotions, you are good at dealing with others. Humans are emotional creatures, dealing with them is nothing but dealing with their emotions.
11. Be Honest: if you want to build trust with your teams and clients, try being honest. 
12. Learn to accept mistakes: accepting your mistakes requires courage and self-confidence. By accepting mistake, you increase your trust level. It also shows how transparent you are.
13. Learn to say NO:  Never over commit and under deliver, it’s always good to under commit and over deliver. Learn to say NO and have right reasons to justify your NO.
14. Appreciate and Thanks: Today all are busy in getting appreciation, but no one is appreciating others. Find a reason to appreciate someone for something and never forget to say thanks.

My Salary Hike:
Don't ask for a salary hike and promotion, organisation should recognise and give. Why? Let me give my own example.
When I was working in my first organisation, after 2.5 years. My manager called me for a one-on-one meeting. He told me he is going to promote me as lead. I rejected his offer. And said no Sir lead role requires a lot of patience and management skills. By giving my manager (Prabhakar Chigateri, he is my role model) example, I want to be like him to take that role. He did not agreed! He said; No you are already doing a lead role, by observing that only I'm offering this to you. He gave me 3 days’ time to come back and tell my opinion. After 3 days again I denied his offer. He forced me as; how many years you wanted to do what you are doing right now? It's a time for you to move forward and take up the responsibilities and don’t worry I'm with you, accept and move on. I finally agreed.

I don't know how many people do this self-evaluation, before taking roles and responsibilities. I witnessed many are getting a lot of stress and tension to get promotion in their job.

You don't believe, in my career only once I asked for a salary hike in our appraisal meeting. My manager (Prabhakar Chigateri) asked me why are you asking this. I told him, during the weekend meeting with my friends, I got to know; we need to ask and fight for hike in appraisal meeting. (Yes, it was a very transparent answer by me) My manager told me, Vishnu don't get influenced by your friends and others. Be true to yourself. I understood what he meant, till today I never asked for any hikes in any of the appraisal meetings.

Even at the time of recession also, I received a 30% hike in the same organisation. How? As I said, in corporate you don't need to run, just a brisk walk brings you a victory. Because there is no race.
I don't think Sundar Pichai is fighting with his manager to get hike and promotions. Don't demand hikes and promotions, your deliverables and skills should command them.

My Job Promotion:
Only once I suggested myself for promotion with my manager (one of the previous offices) in a very polite way, as I was doing some management role, that was about to get delivered from the 2-level senior designated people than me. To justify my role, I requested that. In a day I got recommended for the promotion and I got promoted as well. But I felt very bad about it. As I said, one should not demand for promotion, their work should command it.

Flowers look beautiful when they bloom on its own. It will look ugly if you forcibly tear and make it blossom. Fruit is tasty when it ripe naturally. If you put chemicals you make them ripe early, it will not be that tasteful and healthy.


Story from Katha Upanishad: Nachiketa (young boy) answers Yama, as Yama offers some money and Wealth to Nachiketa as an exchange to compromise. Nachiketa says to Yama: One is supposed to get, what he is supposed to get in his life. If one earns undeserved money or wealth, it will not stay with him. If one not earned due to injustice or politics or any other reasons? No need to worry, he will surely get them, in one or other way. If you understand Katha Upanishad story, you don't need to worry about your earnings or losses.

It’s very important, one must follow office policies and guidelines:
My office policy guides me to wear collar neck T-shirt. One day I was with round neck T-shirt my HR head pointed that (just kidding way), I was feeling guilt. Never repeated that again. My office suggested to use one email signature, but I like different signature. I just threw out my personal interests and started following the suggested one. You may question, why we need to follow all the offices suggestions or policies? I'm doing my work perfectly; I don't follow other things. This is absolutely against the corporate culture. You never know, your organization is respected and recognised based on their set standard, by denying them you are disrespecting your organization and spoiling organization’s reputation.

How important is it? Assume, one of your most important festival or ritual you have not followed dress code as per culture (ex: your marriage you go with half plants). How the entire community is going to treat you. Same way one should bow down to the office policies or procedures. No corporate ever introduced impossible things in policies.
Again, following all these policies are easy, fact is 90% of them are ignored. Following these itself you make a difference, no extra effort needed. Here you don't need even a brisk walk, just a walk itself makes a difference.

How to treat office work?
Treat your office work, the way you treat your personal work. Assume you need to get passport, they ask your ID proof, photo and so on. If you don't have all those, you go to the places where you get them and act to obtain all required documents. If the photo studio is closed, you go to another one or another one till you get photo. Because it's needed for your passport. Similarly, when office work comes, simply don't throw it into others plate by saying it’s their job and so on. Sometimes it's your duty to follow up and get things delivered.

You may say as, I'm following all the rules and instructions very sincerely but success is to far for me. Remember, following all the examination rules will not get you pass results. You must create value to the organisation. Again, it's not based on how many hours you work, it based on how much value you create from your work.

Again, you may say, I'm 100% disciplined, punctual, hardworking, value creation person. Unfortunately, due to office politics and favouritism, people like me will never get any growth. Here is a solution: Negative thinking and Negative vibrations will push you down. It's a metaphysical fact, [some call as law of attraction] our thoughts are very powerful tools. If you use them to destroy yourself, they will destroy you. Being ambitious and thinking positively will create different frequencies and vibration's in you, they will take you to the success path. Stop complaining and learn to improve your required skills.

If you are blaming or in the company of blaming people, you have no possibility of getting any success or growth. How management supports the people who are throwing negative comments and a lot of disrespect to their own organization. Stop gossiping and keep distance from gossiping people.

By following all the above, still if you are not achieving success in the corporate. Just chill! Real success in life is, one should live a peaceful and joyful life. Examine the life of teachers, doctors, and daily labourer's; most of them are serving only one job and one designation till they get retirement. They are doing wonderful service in their given job. That itself is a success, have no desperation towards success in job, that will lead you to depression and chronic health issues. Being ambitious is not wrong. Make sure you are just celebrating every moment in life.

Look at me, not the shadow in water.

Most of the time we understand things and people by other's perceptions, understandings, views and beliefs. If you are one among them, it's not too late to stop that habit.

Every individual is unique in this world, how can you simply trust and believe other’s beliefs, views and perceptions, until you experience or sense it. [I know there are few exceptions like Coronavirus, Cyanide, poison, electric power and so on, we don’t need to experience them]

It happens to me several times, people come and tell, he is good, or he is bad. I never go with their opinions. Reason: I'm not saying they are wrong. They may be absolutely right, but the same is not true for me.

When I was leading a team in one of my previous company, I assigned some task to someone, who is not part of my team, that task was interdependent task from the other team member. Some people in my team told me. Vishnu, did you assign that task to him? He will never complete on-time. He may take minimum two to three weeks to address.

I just ignored my fellow member's suggestions or opinions; I went and spoke with him and requested his help. It’s amazing!  with-in two days he completed the given task, delivered and updated status to me.

In fact, several times I have assigned several tasks to him, every single time, he gave great importance to my requests and delivered things much earlier than my expectations. Neither I'm his reporting manager nor I used my official powers.

It's not an exaggeration, in his last day with that organisation, he came to my desk and informed me about his leaving. I wished him all the best.

One more thing happened with me in my previous office. Some tasks were pending for 6 months with lots of negative opinions and feedback from clients for the delay. When I took up the management role, I spoke with each individual and it happened; we delivered one of the long pending automation job within two to three months of time and received appreciation from the client. Same resources, same skills, same task? How was it possible? Don't listen to old stories and their views and opinions. Go fresh, be compassionate, consider, trust and respect all. Things will happen in a magical way.

Remember, every single story of other person is their own experience of life. Prejudice and assumptions are not good.

Let me give one example which I learned from spiritual teachings.

One Sage was living in a graveyard, and he was training and doing things, which are against society and culture. Because of his popularity, messages went to all the corners of the country.

That country was ruled by the King, his daughter got frustrated by hearing that news, as one of the Sage is bad with his lifestyles, culture and approaches. She informed her father as I will go and teach him a lesson. When she visited that graveyard, Sage explained 120 poems to her, which influenced her, and she settled at the graveyard by dancing and singing with him. After few days, King's wife feared for her daughter's absence and informed King. She took some soldiers to teach a lesson to that Sage and bring their daughter back. She reached the graveyard, sage explained 90 poems to her, she got influenced and settled at his place.

After few days, King really got confused by the happenings. He got worried with his daughter and wife’s absence, he decided to go and punish that Sage.

He reached Sage's place, Sage explained 30 poems to him, and King got influenced by it and thought to settling with him.

Out of curiosity, King reached Sage and asked him, I heard very bad stories about you, people outside are thinking you as a bad person. But in my experience, I have not found any such things with you, why?

Sage answered, he asked him to look at the still lake on full moon day and asked him, what are you seeing? King replied I see moon. Sage asked him to look at the sky and asked if both are the same or different? King replied as both are the same. Then Sage throwed a stone into the stilled lake and asked again, are you still seeing the same? King replied no, now moon is scattered and I can't see a clear moon in the Lake. Sage asked the king, how about the moon in the sky? King replied it's clear and perfect.

Sage told King, the things you heard about me were the reflection of the lake, many might have witnessed reflection of the moon, not the real moon.

Sage said, now you are seeing real me, all the bad news, stories and different opinions are just reflection of water, not the real moon.

Similarly, never go with people's opinions, it may be just a reflection. If someone is really forcing their opinions, there may be some selfishness or fear behind it. Better try to experience the real moon.

You may wonder why 120, 90, and 30 poems Sage used to teach. Experience of life matters, to make them realise the truth.

Below is a Moneys experiment of gossips and negativity:

Don't allow someone to fill your mind with their experiences, prejudice, gossips and assumptions, use your own intelligence and have your own experiences.

Examples: person who is standing under the coconut tree get hurt by coconut fall. It may not be true to you; you may get benefit from the coconut fall. Matter of fact one in a million get hurt, remaining all are benefited by coconut fall.

Life is very dynamic, don't believe or follow any static and historic guidelines. Life is like a river, no one ever possible crossed same river twice. Every second it changes to new, new curves, new force, new content, new sounds, new temperature, new colour, new design, and new look. How anyone can see the same river again, similarly every person on this earth is very dynamic and new.

Best way to understand or sync with someone:
1. Delete all your prejudice and be fresh.
2. Delete your EGO, it's not allowing you to see the real person.
3. Delete all your experiences and comparisons.
4. Just observe like a baby, as it treats all with the same respect and with no discriminations.
5. Delete your Religion, Caste, Colour, Position, Education, Wealth, and so on. Just be as you are a person with nothing and no identity, you have less possibility to hate someone.
6. Be true, be real, and be the same both inside and outside.
7. Stop listening to gossips and see real.
8. Learn to see; what you see not how you see. [how- is inclusion of your mind, what - is NO inclusions or comparisons of mind or history]

Most of your life decisions are under the control of other’s opinions. That's not good. Others give their operations based on their maturity, knowledge and experience. So, trust your own self.

Example: Someone call you Dog, someone call you God, you know you are human. Never ever give a space to listen history to understand the present. If you do so, you are biased with your understandings and you miss the reality. Prejudice is like poison. Poison kills you once, prejudice kills you ever second.

Power of GOAL

Unfortunately many people live life with no specific goals, whereas some people have goals but not specific. Let's see what is advantages of having specific goal?

Assume you are a skilled shooter and have bow and arrow in your hands. I will ask you to shoot. Where you will shoot? You can't shoot as I have not given any target/goal. Similarly having skills wouldn't help you, unless you have specific goal or targets set.

Goal without specification looks like this, you have bow and arrow and you are shooting at East side. What is the use of shooting towards East side when there is no right target set?

Goal should be like this: In the forest, once tiger decided to catch one specific deer (in group the group of deer) and runs towards that, if on the way any other deer comes closer to it, it will just ignore and move towards the targeted one, it's ready  to run additional kilometers to catch the deer,  and never compromises from the target and its goal.


Here is one of the Harvard Business school research:
In 1979 Harvard asked one specific question to MBA students. "Have you clearly written goals of your future and prepared any plans to achieve them?"
Only 3% students had written goals and had plans. 13% students had goals but not written. Other 84% had not set any goals and they were very much interested to enjoy holidays after academics.
After 10 years in 1989, researchers surveyed the same students. 13% who had goals and not written on papers were doing ordinary jobs, and earning two times greater than 84%. Whereas 3% who had clearly written goals were earning 10 times greater than the 97%

Above research clearly explains that one should always have clear and specific goals, not only goals, they have to write down them on a paper.

Let me give my own example, I decided to get a job in 2 months. I marked the end date in calendar and started looking at it and working towards it. I got the job before reaching end date or deadline. It’s not my only story, all of you look back and see, in your life; most of the achievements you have achieved when you set specific goal and target dates to it.

Why my goals is not becoming a reality?
Answer is you might be having goals, those goals may not be clear or specific, and you have not written on paper or you have doubt on your set goal or you are not working towards to achieve them.
Remember, one should have believable goals. You can't have a goal which you yourself can't believe in it. Example: I want to become a Prime Minister or President of the country. It's impossible because you set that goal but your core inner feelings says that it's not possible by you. Having these unbelievable goals and not having any goals are almost same.

Steps to set goals and achieve:
  1. Have possible, believable and achievable goals.
  2. Once you set goals, start doing research to achieving them, prepare plan, analyze about goal requirements and acquire skill set for that and work on those areas.
  3. Once your goal requirements are clear, start working on them. Assume if your goal requires 10 different things you need to be master on, prioritize 10 things and work on one at a time. If one of requirement is too big? Break them into pieces and apply divide and conquer rule.
  4. Identify and eliminate what negative actions or thought are blocking you to achieve your goal.
  5. Stop blaming others, take all the responsibilities on your shoulders.
  6. Forgive all the people who disturbed you in the past, invest the same energy towards your goals.
  7. Believe that there is a solution for every problem and assume nothing stops you to achieve your goal.
  8. Have good relationships with every member of your family and work environments.
  9. Assume you have no limitations and have infinite energy to achieve your goals.
  10. Set goals with target dates. For bigger goals, split and set the target dates and deadlines to achieve them.
  11. Measure your goal and it's achievement like sports score board by tracking with percentage of accomplishment.
  12. Have courage and believe that you have all capabilities to achieve your goal.
  13. Question yourself who is preventing or what is preventing your goal achievement, find the preventing reasons and work towards to fix them.
  14. Make learning is a habit, daily invest some dedicated time to learn on your subjects.
  15. Set time to train, set time to perform and achieve your goals.
  16. Practice reputedly and perform brilliantly.

Power of achieving goal using power of subconscious mind:
Education, Experience and Eligibility does not matter, only GOAL matters! If you want to achieve something, set believable goal and write down on the paper, and work towards it.

Each of us have about 60,000 thoughts on an average day. By writing out your desires and goals on a piece of paper, you send a red flag to your subconscious mind that these thoughts are far more important that the remaining 59,999 other ones. Your mind will then start to seek out all opportunities to realize your destiny like a guided missile. It is really a very scientific process. Most of us are simply not aware of it. Universe has everything, one who achieved is the one who have GOALS. In your city, check your neighbors or strangers whoever is settled in 30X40 house had GOALS of having 30X40 house, and who settled in 60X40 house had goals of having 60X40 house, similarly villas, and mansions and so on.

Everybody has problems

In life with no exception everyone must undergo with some problems. You can’t escape, no matter whether you are rich/poor, OR you live in America, Europe or Asia. Apparently you must experience problems in life.

We have seasons like; Summer, Rainy, Winter, and Spring; it doesn’t matter you stay in hut or villa or mansion, you must experience all the seasons in life. Similarly you get Happiness, Sadness, Joy, Cry, Celebration and Suffering, it does not matter whether you stay in hut or villa or mansion or rich or poor or any? You must experience all the flavours and phases of life.

Some people are in an assumption that; I’m good at emotional intelligence, communication, people management and so on. I may not experience any problems. No way, if you know how to deal with situation and people, God will introduce few gadgets or tool or weather, that will make you freak-out.

There is a proverb in Kannada language: “ಕಷ್ಟ ಮನುಶ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಬರದೆ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾ”, problems come to people not to trees. What a great understanding it is, most of the proverbs are great understanding of life’s experiences.

When people get bigger problems in life, first thing they do is? Going to stop all celebrations of life! They start focus and think about their problems. When trees gets the problems they take it in different way.

When trees get problems, they never stop all the activities and celebrations of their life, trees life is aligned with seasons. Assume if tree lost one of its bigger branch by cut or natural disasters, it will not stop any seasonal activities, such as getting new leaves, flowers, nuts, fruits, and so on. It respects all seasons and acts according to the seasons. Tree is non-moving being, still it know, how to move on with the problems.

Whereas human are not like that, when they get any bigger problems, they kill all celebrations from life. They started living life like rocks and dead particles. No sweetness in life, ignoring all festivals, ignoring all joyful moments, and ignoring all beautiful happenings. Repeatedly they keep on thinking about their problems or bad moments. They keep on suffering, suffering, and suffering. Their life is just suffering, anything they see either good or bad; they come back to their earlier bad/difficult situations or problem, and think about the things that made them suffer, and continue their suffering.


To live absolute life we need to learn from trees. If you cut main branch of the tree, it uses all other branches to show how joyful it is… If you cut all main branches of the tree, still it raises leaves from the stem and grow as a twig and bear flowers, fruits and soon. Tree is a great example, on how we need to take our life problems.

Problems in life are just situations. If you keep on thinking about them, they grow bigger and bigger. If you forget and move forward, those problems get evaporated from your life and memory. Unfortunately, most of the people think like they are the only people in this world living with these many problems.

Osho explains in one of his teachings; most of the psychological diseases come to the rich people only. They keep on going for counselling with psychiatrist and no psychiatrist can cures 100%. They just listen and listen and they charge higher bills as a consultation fee for their listening. If person has more money it takes many years to get cured. If person has less money it will be cured little earlier. If person has no money, they don't even get any psychological diseases at all.

Show me one person who doesn't have any problems. Every single person on Earth has problems. Some people take problems seriously, some people ignore their problems and move forward.

Presidents of all the country have problems like; which country try to become a rebel or business competitor and so on. Or which country may attack on their country, which terror group may attack on them. Or which opposition party leader will destroy their reputation and so on.

Similarly great business man's have problems like who will take over their business, which core employee can leave and impact their business. What new technology can destroy their entire business existence, similarly they also have problems of securing their assets and properties.

What about Sage? Sages also have problems, which sage is attracting more people. Who can influence better than them. Who will take over their entire identity? [It will not apply to the Sages who grown beyond their identities]

Every office employee has problems like which higher officer can influence and destroy their peace, which new work will disturb their daily routine, which team member will overtake or disturb and so on.

Every media heads have problems, who can impact their TRP, who will take over their business.

Everybody has problems. No one is exceptional and No one can escape!

Once incident happened: one person asked group of people to write down your problems in chits and put on the table. After sometime he allowed to read all chits to the group member; After sometime, he asked to take the chit of whatever the problem you wish to take, and guides as: it’s not mandatory that you need to take your problems chit, you have option to swap with others problems. Interesting all of them taken their problems chits back, they never tried to think of taking others problems, because those are horrible for them when compared with their problems. Because their own problems are ok as they are known to them, whereas others problems are unknown. Unknown is not easy like a known.

There is a saying: when you tell to someone about your problems, two ways people take. 80% people think as they are lucky, they don't have that problem. Another 20% people think that, you should get these problem and that makes them to feel happy. So if you are speaking about your problems, you are becoming a food for others. Nothing more than that.

No one genuinely interested with your problem, because they have their own tons of problems. Some people may take entertainment with your problems.

So, stop talking or thinking about problems, just move on, nothing is bigger than your life. Remember, problem come and go in life like seasons nothing is going to stay permanently or nothing is stable. Nothing stays forever it applies to both good and bad.
